Starting in the 2020 season, a new ADAC junior league will launch on Germany’s best-known race tracks and neighbouring circuits across Europe. The Tourenwagen Junior Cup is built around a VW up! GTI specially engineered by MRD as an affordable yet highly developed entry-level race car tailored to the needs of young up-and-coming drivers. The series is organised by ADAC Weser-Ems e.V. in Bremen.
In addition to providing technical support for the vehicles, MRD will also organise the series.
“We’re delighted to present the new Tourenwagen Junior Cup together with ADAC Weser-Ems e.V. MRD designed the series for ambitious young drivers who want to work toward a professional career with a calculable financial outlay,” explains Matthias Meyer, owner and managing director of MRD.
“Special thanks go to ADAC Weser-Ems e.V., which will act as the series organiser going forward and played a key role in building up the series,” Meyer continues.
The Tourenwagen Junior Cup will launch its first season in 2020 and will become a permanent part of the new ADAC Racing Weekends, a new ADAC event series being held for the first time in 2020.
